Hey Howard,
I an a recent transplant from the Twin Cities, I highly recommend checking out the Kinnickinnic River while you are in the area. It is right across the St. Croix River in Western Wisconsin. Class I trout stream with good populations of naturally reproducing fish. I have never used a guide there, but I know there are quite a few in the area.
Square Lake MN is also cool. Pretty good sized lake stocked with trout, but also good populations of panfish, pike and bass.. I have never fished it other than through the ice (which is a blast!). Not sure if you would be able to target trout with a fly rod in Sept.
Big Marine lake is a solid fishery as well, and pretty close to the Twin Cities.

I am heading to St. Paul for a couple of days in mid September and I was wondering if anybody has any guide recommendations for the area.--
Thanks in advance,
Howard
