{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Shenanadoah River Near Bentonville

Floated 7.5 miles over 6 hours yesterday with my little brother in a canoe (Trip #3: http://downriver.com/trips/canoe.php). It was a great day and the gauge height was right around 3.0ft.. better than normal for this time of year and ideal for canoeing (USGS: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/va/nwis/uv?format=gif&period=7&site_no=01629500).

We encountered a lot of grass but I didn't notice much algae. Smallmouth were eager to take a streamer or grub on a spin rod. Lot's of topwater action too. The blue dragonflies were everywhere yesterday and smallies were going airborne to get them. It's a very nice time to get out on the river. We only saw a dozen or so kayakers and no tubes whatsoever.

Good morning everybody!

Has anyone been out on the Shenandoah near the state park and/or
Bentonville lately? How is the water level? Is there tons of algae?

Thanks!
Mike
