{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Smallmouth around Fletchers

Matt,  I fish the Rt.66 bridge area from my kayak and do well. I will paddle above a bridge pylon and drift down under the bridge fishing the structure.  My pattern is to fish the sides facing the Virginia shoreline first working my way across the river, then start over and fish the other side of each pylon comming back.  A short paddle up river each time float down again.  Get exercise and fishing in all at the same time.  Use weighted flies or sink tip line with a dead drift and little jigging motion.  Fish are right against structure.  Smallies, crappie, perch, catfish,  many species.   Had something on last summer , never saw it 3-4 min of bent rod and gone.  What ever it was it was big.

Hey guys!

Are there any smallies around Fletchers? If so - I'm going deep during
mid-day, right?
