I have my grandfather's 8' True Temper fiberglass rod too! I fished it almost exclusively for a year when he sent it to me once he decided he had waded his last stream. It now hangs on the wall, fully assembled with his automatic reel, DT4 line, and long level leader with three loops and a wet fly hanging from each one - ready to go as it always was. My grandfather was a remarkable man, and a fine fisherman. I learned a lot from him.

I learned to cast on that exact model rod. It's a True Temper, was my great grandfather's.--
