Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Pohick Bay

I'm glad you've corrected me on this, because I wasn't paying much attention as I was heading in for a bunch of limbs and grabbed him up quickly, and I thought to myself "what a large mouth" for a small mouth as I removed the woolly-bugger.  The jaw does indeed extend behind the eyes!

Got up early and drove the 11 miles to Pohick Bay recreation area, south of Alexandria.  Had another chance to try out the Straitedge AdvElements Angler inflatable that I some fun with a couple of weeks back.  Photo is of the SMB on my first cast at about 8:45 after paddling  back into the lilly pads.  The carp were spawning and I got "carped" a few times as they nudged their way under the kayak.  Far back the water was very clear and I saw what I think were snakeheads in rather predatory positions that I spooked when gliding by.  Also saw a few turtles, lots of Heron and Osprey.  And a snake!
