I fished the Shenandoah a week ago. We floated a section near Luray. The river seemed slightly low and the water was slightly murky when we fished it, kind of like light green tea. I caught a few smallies and killed the sunfish. The top water bite was on for most of the day because it was cloudy.
After 2:30 the sky grew dark and we were hit by 40 knots of wind right on the nose. The rain started and it was a driving rain. I ended up paddling for 45 minutes or so in these conditions until I reached the pull-out. It made for a bit of an adventure.
