{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Less Exotic Fletchers Cove Cat

Umm so here's a less exotic catch (though still an invasive) from two weeks ago in Fletcher's Cove, a blue catfish. Took him from a deep channel while fishing from a ledge. I only had my floating line with me so I cast way upstream and waited a long while for my clouser to sink before short slow strips. After a couple of strips he hit--and of course I thought it was a snag until the 8wt started bobbing! My first cat on a fly and lots of fun. I was so excited I didn't weight him, but I figure maybe 4-5 lb and about 25''. One of the fun things about the catch was watching the two guys in a bass boat who were trolling give me a certain look when I boga'd him ; )
