This is obvious: to go for a joy paddle.

Subject: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Teenage Girls Stealing CanoesI got a late start on my redfish expedition this morning, in part because I screwed up my alarm. I parked at Belle Haven in the northernmost lot (closest to Wilson bridge). As I always do, I carried my canoe down to the water and returned to my car for my rod, paddle, anchor, etc. I have never had a problem with this before.
When I returned to the put-in with my gear, my canoe was gone! I looked for it, and saw it way, way offshore (approximately 20 nautical feet) being hands-paddled towards Maryland by a pair of teenage girls. I yelled at them in my angriest-manliest voice, and they paddled back to shore where I could get my canoe back. They were very apologetic, but something about this does not add up.
I heard somewhere that teenage girls are huge thieves in general. Approximately 78% of shoplifting is done by teenage girls. Now they probably have formed a regional teenage girl canoe thief ring. I know some people will say this is profiling, but please be careful with your canoe when there are teenage girls around. Don't leave it unattended, but if you have to then lock it up with a quality U-lock.
Also, the teenager girls stole all the redfish before I got there. I did not catch any.
