Not sure if anyone has suggested a book by steve moore I believe his name is.  I bought it.  It details the rapidan so well with great pictures.  His website also has a lot of great free information he posts whenever him and his wife go out.

Most know that I live in Woodbridge.  Most of my wading when I flyfish has been in Central Virginia on the Rappahannock and Rapidan Rivers for smallmouth bass.  Where are some good places near Woodbridge that are good for wading?  Can you wet-wade these places (I hate wearing waders in the summer because of heat)?  What species are good there?

The Rappahannock is about 40 minutes from where I am now.  I use to have some private accesses into the river but I have lost contact with the people that had given me permission (some of them moved too).  There are some okay places to wade near Fredericksburg but these places tend to get more pressure because they are accessable.  Are there any other public places that get less pressure?  How do you access them?

These questions are spawning because I am going to take a friend of mine flyfishing in a few weeks.  This will be his first experience with flyfishing and I really want to put him on some fish.  I figure that bream and smallmouth bass are the best opportunity and they are easy to catch.  If anyone else has some suggestions please let me know.
