Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} PRSC June 27 Meeting Features Boat Night at Riverbend Park

It was great to see quite a few of you at the PRSC Boat Night last night, as well as the many fine members of that group.  We had about 10 TPFRers attend, a few of whom are members of both groups.  Many great boats were on display and it was cool to see and hear every one's passion about their custom rigs.  VA and I both brought our inflatables to show off and I got to put fly rods in a few new hands.  MANY THANKS TO OUR GRACIOUS HOSTS, Potomac River Smallmouth Club for providing all of the food and for putting on this great event.  I look forward to the next one!

SUPER EXCITED to see everyone at the Potomac River Smallmouth Club "Boat Night"  this evening at Riverbend Park!  While the initial notice went out as PRSC "members only", know that TPFR is invited along as guests, so don't let that stand in the way!  Burgers and Dogs will be provided.  We could still use an extra grill if possible.  I will be there with Melody and the kids, and I will provide walk up casting instruction to all who are interested.  I plan to bring a single hand rod and a double hand outfit or two as well.  Additionally, I will have my inflatable kayak on display and available if anyone wants to take it for a spin.  This is a VERY COOL event, so I truly hope a lot of TPFRers can make it.  See you all there!

Dan,

I do not have a portable grill, but can go out early to assist any others who volunteer.

To all,

Since the PRSC is putting this event on and has even graciously offered to feed us burgers and dogs, I'd like to solicit from our membership someone willing to bring a grill and help with the cooking duties. Charcoal or propane is fine so long as it is transportable. The volume of meat being grilled is a bit much to rely on the stationary grills at Riverbend park which is why we need another reliable cooking surface. Please respond to this thread and this request if you are willing to bring a grill and do a little flipping. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reminder Ernie! I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE TPFR members to attend this event. I will certainly be there with my inflatable kayak and I'd love to see many others there as well. Additionally, myself and several of the other casting instructors from the club will be there giving all sorts of casting lessons, tips, and pointers for FREE! Count on a few Two-Handed rods in action as well. Please take a moment and mark this event on your calendars so you can plan to be there. I'll likely take the whole day off and get there early to fish a bit before the festivities. Looking forward to a BIG turnout of TPFRers this year at the PRSC Boat Night. See you all there!

This meeting of the Potomac River Smallmouth Club will be devoted to Boat Night.

This annual member-only event typically features an example of every type of boat used for river smallmouth fishing, from jet boats to pontoons, canoes and kayaks. For the second year, the event will be right on the water at Riverbend Park in Great Falls, VA, offering the opportunity to see boats closer to their natural habitat and the potential to take a paddle or ride. This is a great opportunity examine a variety of different types and models of boats, see how they are outfitted, and talk to the owners.

The event will start at 6:00 PM and we'll be grilling hamburgers, so come hungry.
