A question: Both knees are gone - first replacement is set for early October, followed ASAP by other. Walking any distance is just about out of the question for now, but I love smallie fishing on the Potomac. (Used to walk up from Snyder's to the Horsebacks regularly. Gave up on Packhorse because of crowds and access issues on WV side.) Would welcome any suggestions for relatively easy Potomac access for smallie fishing, particularly if it doesn't involve downhill or rocky travel to or from the river. Also, has anyone found/fished the Potomac white fly hatch in recent years? If so, where and when? Hatch used to start any unpredictable time from mid-July to early August. We could never figure out what triggered the timing.

Steve and I were able to get out this weekend to give the smallies a shot. Saturday mornings weather couldn't have been any better. Overcast, not too hot, and a light drizzle. Wish it was like that everyday!--We stayed for a couple hours and got into a handful of fish. Steve took the big one for the day on a crease fly that taped at 20 inches. Can't wait to get back out there.
