{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Sunday at Fletchers

My fishing buddy Chuck and I got to Fletchers around 11:00 am Sunday and we were able to rent a boat right away, no wait.  Wind on the river made it difficult to anchor we keep drifting bouncing the rock along the bottom.  We decided to go to shore and find a bigger rock.  Good move, much better.  The bite for us was good in the lower cove . Managed around 30 to the boat between the 2 of us in 4 hours of fishing.  Lost several others . Hickories were very big fought like  Americans.  Did not catch an American Sunday.  In many years of doing this it was the first time I got a shad with a lamprey  attached to it.  see picture.  The Row back up river against the down river wind was a bitch but we made it.  Wishing Alex had a taxi service .
