{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Camping/Fishing in West Virginia

Joy,

You can't go wrong with Smoke Hole. My biggest Brook Trout (15") came from there in May. The Cranberry is also a great option in my opinion.

Thanks,

Hey there,

I'm thinking about taking a weekend later in August to camp and fly fish in West Virginia. I've taken a day trip to Smoke Hole (South Branch of the Potomac) before, and I certainly wouldn't mind going back, but I was wondering whether there were other sites I should consider. For context, I'm very much a beginner angler. I'll happily accept any recommendations for good campsites near good fishing holes. Preferably within 3 hours of DC, but can be flexible.

Thanks!
Joy
