I haven't been there in years either, but all the Ashburn ponds are a good choice in that area too. some have a good bit of open area for novice backcasting

I'm planning to take my 3yo son fishing for the first time this weekend. Was hoping to get into some bluegill. I had success at Olde Izaak Walton Park in Leesburg years ago when first learning to cast a fly, but haven't been back in 5+ years.Does anyone know if the pond still holds fish? Or fished it recently?Any other suggested spots in/around downtown Leesburg?Thanks!-Ryan
