{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Montaulk Fall Fishing...

If you get the chance (been on my bucket list for years), hit the fall fishing off Montaulk Long Island.  Lots of migrating fish - albiies, stripers, and bluefish.

We had 2 days with a guide, weather was pretty windy and choppy day 1, but managed 3 big false albacores.  2nd day much better, added a third to the boat.

These fish are amazing on a fly rod - they go up to 40MPH and have fins that fold into their bodies.  We used tiny anchovy flies that they seemed to have no trouble seeing.

You looked for breaking fish on the surface or birds working and raced to get some shots in.  Great stuff.
