How is the water at the moment? I was there a few weeks back and decided to leave because of all the weeds and algae.

I believe the parking lot is technically open 6 am to 10 pm.  For all intents and purposes you need to wade.  There is one small spot where you can stand and cast if you are a lefty, but other than that you need to get into the water.
