Hi all -- I've been reading TPFR for a few years now, but this may be my first actual post.

Do any of you have shop that you'd recommend for servicing a 5 HP, 2-stroke outboard motor?

There was nothing wrong with it when it was last used, but it's been sitting in my dad's shed for close to 10 years -- so I'd like to give it a good once-over before trusting it out on the Potomac.  I'm in Arlington, but am willing to drive a decent distance for a reliable repair shop.

Thanks!

Harbin marine is tops.  They are an authorized Mercury servicer.  If your engine isn't a Mercury, I don't believe they will work on it.
Call first and ask.  Harbin does good work, is honest and their prices are fair.  You can't go wrong with them for a Mercury outboard or Mercruiser I/O.
If the engine isn't mercury, call them and ask first.  It'll save you a trip to woodbridge, plus they may be able to recommend a shop that
DOES service your brand of motor.  www.harbinmarine.com/
