{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Location for Beginner Shad Fishing Near Chain Bridge/Little Faalls

There are plenty of places you can fish from shore if you walk upriver from fletchers. You will probably get snagged a bit more and backcasting can be tough if you are fly fishing, but you can still catch plenty of fish if you don't want to rent a boat for some reason.

My son & his friend are in their early 40's and have trout and bass experience, but I don't believe either one has fished for shad.  I have had a little success from the rocks at Chain Bridge and just below Little Falls, but have not done well from a boat near Fletchers..... but if that's where the fish are now, we'll be there this weekend and many thanks for the advice.
