To sum up the trip. It was awesome. I would definitely go back again. I think it is terrific two handed fishery.
This was a more expedition based than traditional fishing trip. There were four of us on the trip.
We spend a couple days at his base camp on the Saryu river and then floated about 60 river miles down the Mahakali river separating India and Nepal.
Fishing was good, but challenging, the snow melt from the mountains had not really kicked in. We caught masheer from 6-18 pounds, there are much bigger fish out there.
Fishing techniques are like swinging for steelhead, cast and swing, sometimes strip. Like the Potomac it is a pretty big river and depending on location you cast off big boulders, other times you are in the river.
Single or two handed rods, sink tips and usually a size 2-4 tube flies. I fished an 8126 method with a 625 grain skagit line all week.
If you consider going someday, let me know and I will be glad to share more detailed info from this trip, but I cannot say enough got things about Misty and his team.
