You need a jet for that stretch of the river....that Crestliner is great but you will knock the lower unit off in no time. The only other suggestion for bigger boat up there (prop) is something with a tunnel hull and jack plate. G3 makes one.
Plenty of nice jet boats for choices.
Lots of folks that run a prop in the upper river have smaller boats with smaller engines and they protect their props with some type of a prop saver device.
I have a 17' Targa with a 115 and NO WAY would I take it up there even though I store it at Algonkian.
