{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Last minute request for a Fly Fishing speaker in Leesburg (for a group of Scouts)

I was contacted yesterday afternoon by Andrea Davis from the "Goose Creek Venturing Crews Round Table".  It seems she had a short fly fishing presentation planned for a group of Scouts tomorrow evening, but the speaker fell through at the last minute leaving her in a tight spot.  The details from her message are below.  On the phone, she indicated that the group size is likely 12-15 kids and the presentation can be a very basic overview of Fly Fishing including nearby places in the Leesburg area to fish.  Visual aids could simply be a fly rod and reel outfit and a box of flies.  I know quite a few of our members are in the Leesburg area, so if this sounds like something you'd like to help with I'm certain Andrea and the kids would be extremely thankful.  I would try to help myself but am already speaking at the NOVA CCA meeting tomorrow night during the same time period. 

 

If anyone from TPFR can help, please indicate your interest here and I will forward you Andrea's contact info and put the two of you in touch.  I know it is extremely short notice, but any opportunity to put fly fishing and the outdoors in front of kids is certainly worth the effort.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

The Venturing Round table Meets the Second Wednesday of each month at the Leesburg United Methodist Church.  It begins at 7:30 pm.

Located at 107 West market Street, Leesburg, VA 20176

 

But the speaker might want to come early to set up the visual aids etc.
