{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Fishing report from the last few days

my experience with the Maury is that it has never fished nearly as good as it looks, whether for bass or trout...beautiful river, mediocre fishing.

The 2nd and 3rd I fished with a buddy down near JMU.  The morning of the second we hit Dry Run for some brookies.  We landed some nice 6-8 inch fish.  He has caught many in the 9-11inch range during the fall.  Later that afternoon we hit Mossy Creek.  He landed a 9in bow and i lost a brown that looked to be in the 15-18in range.  The 3rd we fished Mill Creek iin the morning and shifted over to Maury Run in the afternoon.  In Mill i landed a few hold over rainbows that were pushing 14 inches.  I have no feedback from Maury.  It is a huge river that had many pockets that were over 8 feet deep, and all I ended up with was a tiny small mouth.  Majority of the trip we were tossing a bunch of flies i tied,  San Juan worms, black zebra midges and prince nymphs.  All in all it was a great trip seeing an old buddy and we got into some fish and got to see 4 new rivers.  If anyones plannin on goin that way, i can give some tips we learnt that were are decently detailed to a certain river.

Tight lines,
