{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Lost River, WV

Thank you! I will keep all of that in mind.  I'll let you know how it goes, especially at the Brewery!

I've only fished the area during the spring with trout stockings,  done very well but all stockers.  I imagine they are gone by now.   Its a nice area though.  Lost river brewery is suppose to be nice.  I assume the lost river will fish much like any smaller smallmouth stream as it has plenty of fish.  think cacapon,  but just a little smaller.  There used to be an access just after the first bridge crossing coming from wardensville that was on private property and had a sign allowing it to be open to fisherman,  nice section form what i remember,  but there is access at ll the bridges as well.   trout run should have brookies in the upper reaches as should some of the the GWN water if you explore some.  I also think you cross paddy run which is suppose to have some bookies in it on the opposite slope before you get to wardensville.   The water on all the trout stream is very tight,  all forested with lots of brambles,  got to get in the water.  Good luck, love to hear how you do or if you actually find the bookies,  I've never explored to far from the road.

Hey, All

I'm heading over to Lost River, WV, for a few days and am looking for any thoughts regarding that river, the Kimsey Run, or the Trout Pond Recreation Area.  Has anyone been over that way lately?  If so, anything I should keep in mind?  Thanks
