{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Virginia Beach sort of Fly Fishing

Folks,
I am accompanying my wife on business and we will end up in Tidewater on the 27th. We are planning to spend Saturday and Sunday morning on the beach somewhere over in the Virginia Beach area. I am a little embarrassed to say that as a 68 year old Virginia native I have never been to Virginia Beach. My question for the group is recommendations for parking somewhere around the Beach area. I don't think my wife is inclined to want to be in the boardwalk area. We were thinking maybe about the state park or further south at Sandbridge. My fly rods are packed to carry over on the beach and the Solunar chart says Saturday should be a good day. I'm not sure exactly where to go in that whole area call Virginia Beach. I don't want to park in a situation with parking meters so I guess I need parking garages or public parking areas. I'm just not sure from reading on the web what might be the best to try. Any thoughts?  Thanks!
