Okay -- So howcomzit my 8-weight has no hook keeper? Sure, it has an absurdly large stripping guide already but I simply can't be bothered to reach up there to secure my fly every time. What nonsense.
-- Of all of the things that tangle your line while fishing.....from a canoe for example, the hook keeper is (apparently) a big offender!
There's something comforting about carrying your rod backwards through the brush, with a 3/0 lead minnow gored into your palm Of course, I'd be using a 3-weight (max) for such flies since going larger is total overkill, bro. That's not fun, and by "fun" I mean feeling the fish struggling for it's life on the end of your line!
So I ask you -- howcomzit?
