I took my dad out on the Little J last Monday for his 63rd birthday and it surely didn't disappoint. My dad fished his dad's bamboo fly rod that I had refinished for him a few years back so it was a special day all around. Although the river was flowing high (flowing around 500 cfs to the average 408 cfs) we were able to get into the big browns and one nice bow at the junk yard on size 20 caddis nymphs. We saw a few small Grannom hatches but had all of our success sub-surface.
-- The Little J is starting to get into good shape now and I recommend midweek trips!
tight lines,
Joe
