Hey -- I dug up several cased caddis nymphs that were strikingly green-colored (see one from my post a couple of days ago).
-- Anyone know what species this is?
I found this -- http://www.west-fly-fishing.com/entomology/caddis/green.shtml
which suggests that this genus is of "free-living" caddis...which would seem to conflict with my pulling 2 of them out of their very obvious case before getting a good look.
I'm still learning the bugs and don't have much experience in this -- anyone know these caddis nymphs well?
