I'd ping Dan Davala on Bull Run in your backyard. Small water but it might be a good place to test out some sea legs and new setups. Also, in a few months once the shad get going, below the Occoquan Reservoir Dam would be good place to start - assuming there is some water flow this year.. There are quite a few previous posts on that area. The place can be crawling with shad and few stripers once the run gets going. Heard of a snakehead or two in there as well.
