Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: 4MR

Will,

When they aren't schooling they will often take the damsel, wait for the shad run to start at Chain Bridge and they will annihilate the damsel. I've also had them go for thingamabobbers in 4MR.

That catfish is nasty gross. What is the TPFR official stance on killing them? Md DNR wants them all killed. They do more harm than any other fish in the river system. I haven't caught one yet but, not sure if I'd bash its head in quickly or give it to someone.

Gizzards are never interested in anything I offer...what do they go for?

That catfish is in that same spot nearly everytime I go there (outgoing tide).  That spot is a gizzard shad haven too.

First time at Four Mile Run this year. Stalked this absurd cat for 15 minutes before I got it to take a big stonefly.....blast on a 5wt with 4x in the skinny water. Easily over 30" and 10+lbs.

Fished just down from the warm water release yesterday (Sunday) from about 1-3:30. Caught a very small bass and 6 sunfish on a Rob Snowhite fly that he gave my son at last week's beer tie. Thanks, Rob!
