{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: POTOMAC SHAD UPDATE??

Fished from 6-8 pm just around the pumping platform. Chartreuse dart. Action in little eddy was non stop. Mostly Hickory shad (dozens) , 3 American's a few Gizzard shad. caught 4-5 little rockfish just below little eddy in the faster water. 
Shad were in slower water than I thought. Had no luck fishing the faster water upstream, though I was resigned to some really fast water due to the crowds. 

If anyone has suggestions on targeting the larger american's... much appreciated. Do they tend to hold up in deeper water?
