{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Four Mile Run Update

I saw that same big damn fish. It scared the piss out of me the other weekend. It trolled by about 7" from me and I literally froze up. I have no idea what it is/ was but it did not care about me, the two carp swimming with it and the school of Goldfish around it.

Spent the past two days out on 4MR

Some things to note:
  • Arlington county now has someone patrolling the 4MR trail and checking for licenses
  • The trees and brush along the Arlington side have been trimmed from S. Eads st to the outflow. This has opened up a lot of space to back cast. It also put a lot of great structure in the water. You can now sneak up from the shore and cast over them
  • Some big sucker/carp type of fish were in there today. I'll generously say they were 2' long. If I was in Florida I'd say they were bonnet heads. They came right up to me today and were spooked and took off
  • There was a guy on the Frank Mann Field section wearing a Fukushima looking haz mat suit with a hard hat today. He was picking up litter along the shore. Kudos to him.
