Sounds to me more like they have suggestive evidence that fish (trout) do not have an obvious adverse reaction to bee venom and "acid".  Since fish are not common predators of bees or honey, I'm not sure how much of a surprise this is (i.e. I would expect bee venom to evolve as a primarily mammalian defense....and/or to subdue prey in some species....but I'm not an entomologist).  Granted that this is just from reading the article in the paper there -- not the actual, peer-reviewed research.  

Not that either result would affect my decision to fish -- but it definitely is an interesting read.  Good post!  Thanks for sharing it.   

To me, there is absolutely nothing more interesting than animal behavior.
