This is a reminder to all that the next TPFR BEER TIE is TONIGHT at RiRa Irish Pub in Arlington. Details and directions can be found on our EVENTS PAGE. Tonight, Rob Snowhite will be teaching Rabbit Strip Leeches at the beginner's table. Rob and I picked this based on the recent thread regarding zonkers, so the flies he teaches tonight will expose tiers to both standard rabbit Zonker Strips as well as Crosscut Rabbit Strips by getting their hands on both.
Tonight's raffle will be a super special event for two reasons. Number one is, TPFRer Aden Tracy has built for the club a special edition 9' 2-weight rod that is just AWESOME! This thing is light and crisp, and has some beautiful thread work. Aden also did a fantastic job etching TPFR into the butt cap. Any serious Bluegill fanatic or light line Trout angler will want this rod in the quiver, and tonight is your chance. Aden is also finishing a second tip for the rod and will make it available to whomever the winner is once the tip is done. I will find a few other things for raffle as well. The second special thing about tonight's raffle is, ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE BENEFIT OF TRENT JONES who recently suffered a serious house fire. Remember also that the BEER TIE tonight will serve as a drop-off point for those of you wishing to make a donation to Trent in the form of cash, check, or gift card. Again, the specifics are HERE.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all tonight at the December TPFR BEER TIE. Hard to believe tonight marks TWO FULL YEARS that we have been doing these!
