{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Iron Vise at the Beer Tie 2019

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Beer Tie last night and enjoyed our Casting for Recovery Mid-Atlantic Iron Vise competition!

Five competitors shared some nifty prizes. Congratulations to Brook Rolter, Raphael Victor, Ed Cantow, Nathan Miller, and Corey Girmar.

Many thanks to our three judges, Alan Short, Art Noglak, and Mark Sofman.

At the teaching table, Rob added a swell pink fly to everyone's arsenal, so we expect some amazing fishing stories soon.

And thanks to Max, our bartender, who changed from Hockey to Baseball in time for us to enjoy the first innings of another Nationals win.

Photos will be added as soon as a major email glitch is fixed.

Hi, the bears were so locked in on eating salmon that we just got out of there way and they would just pass by. The guides carried bear spray but never felt like we needed it. We did have a bear in our fishing camp one evening and the owner scared him off with 3 shots in the air.

Wow. That is unbelievable. Life goals!

How did you guys handle the bears? I was just in Idaho and was only in grizzly country for a short time with my wife but I was still pretty freaked out. I didn't grow up with any predators in northeast Ohio!
