{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Sunday morning club casting

I've seen several of these posts over the past several weeks and I am interested in getting in some practice/education along with my daughter but our Sunday mornings are taken up by church. Any chance you could make one of these trips on a non-Sunday morning (Saturday, holiday) for us church going types?

What you have made is very, very awesome. Needs stickers.=)

Some other tricks:
You can get magnetic strips and sheets at craft stores. They work
swimmingly as hook/fly holders.

A ruler of some sort and a hook/hackle gauge are good things to put on
the flat deck of the station.

You can get velcro tabs at craft and home supply stores. Then you can
velcro tools, bead boxes, etc to the station.

Add a "teacup hook" for making dubbing brushes and leaders.

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Owens Creek & Big Hunting Creek

Hey Guys I was wondering anyone had recently been by Owens Creek or Big Hunting Creek in Frederick County? I was thinking about heading up there on Saturday or Sunday try for some trout. Anyone know how these streams are looking?

BTW, I did a 7 mile float trip this past weekend on the Shenandoah with my father. We really got into the sunnies and smallmouth, we must caught over 50 smallmouth and 75 sunnies. We stayed at a local campsite in Luray, right on the water. It was called Outlanders, check it out if you plan on camping down that way. It was really nice. Anyways catch you guys later.

If its a Sunday morning DIY, I would suggest parking at the Texas Hole lot and heading towards the damn. I had some success at the Kiddie Hole, but its combat fishing. The closer you get to the dam, the less anglers you'll see. Last year we stayed at Fisheads, across the street from Abe's. All the folks at Fisheads know the river, the bugs, the spots, and will offer to help get you rigged up. Pretty cool to catch 20inch fish on size 20 flies.
