Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} 1000 Islands?

I've been up in Kingston for the past two weeks fishing the lake where the family cottage sits.  Weather has been cold with rain and wind most of the time. Next week should be sunny and warmer. I've been spin casting with a Ned rig and yellow shallow crank bait with good luck in 4-8' of cool water. I haven't fished the St. Lawrence but see boats in the coves. There are some nice lakes that dont get much weekday...

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: When is the next Beer Tie?

Owen,For me it may be a google permissions issue. All my google stuff is associated with my school email, which is not the email I use for TPFR. I tried to create a second account with that email but could not find a place to do that. I don't want the school address to be my main account as I'm not able to see school emails on all my devices.SpencerSpencerSent from my iPadOn Aug 20, 2024, at 8:19 AM, Owen Williams <eowilliams11@gmail.com>...

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} 1000 Islands?

Headed to 1000 Islands for the first time in the second week of September. Although not a fishing trip per se, I hope to get out a time or two for a little kayak fishing for smallmouth.I'm assuming the standard flies/lures will work, in the standard places -- rocky points, dropoffs, islands, current breaks, etc. Though if they're still hanging in deep water then I might have some trouble with the fly rod.I anyone has any suggestions...

Thanks for the feedback, Brad and Spence. We'll have our webmaster look into it. Let us know if you cannot access the TPFR's website calendar directly from the site. Best, OwenOn Tue, Aug 20, 2024 at 8:06 AM 'SPENCER NORCROSS' via Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders <tidal-potomac-fly-rodders@googlegroups.com> wrote:I get the same alert.SpencerSent from my iPadOn Aug 16, 2024, at 10:43 AM, Brad Nicholson <jason.b.nicholson@gmail.com>...

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Pink-tint polarized lenses

Here is the catalog from 1999. I'm still all about amber lenses for all conditions except low light. I wear Costa sunrise yellow lenses. Only glass for me. Sent from my iPhoneOn Aug 17, 2024, at 11:46 PM, 'Miles' via Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders <tidal-potomac-fly-rodders@googlegroups.com> wrote:That's a very cool business I had...

Miles, You're looking for the Ignitor lens from Smith.  They only make 2 models still with that lens.  I'd be happy to order them for you if you like. I use a pair for upland hunting and sporting clays, and occasionally low light fishing.  I don't use it for driving. Regards, R From: Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders <tidal-potomac-fly-rodders@googlegroups.com>Reply-To: Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders...

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Pink-tint polarized lenses

So for winter conditions maybe think ski goggles and sunglasses made by ski goggle companies. Oakley comes to mind. I used to wear their yellow lenses for cycling.  I think it's the combo of pink/yellow for low light and polarized that makes this search a tough one.  Cheers, -- GregSent from my iPhoneOn Aug 18, 2024, at 8:36 AM, 'Miles Townes' via Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders <tidal-potomac-fly-rodders@googlegroups.com>...

Have you looked at shooting glasses?  They come in yellow lenses for low light, and I presume you can find a polarized version.  Just another thought. On Aug 18, 2024, at 8:36 AM, 'Miles Townes' via Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders <tidal-potomac-fly-rodders@googlegroups.com> wrote:Thanks, Greg.
