Are you driving/able to bring your kayak?

Fairly last minute, but I'm planning on accompanying my wife on her work trip to Charleston at the end of June. I'll have thursday and Friday to myself. Ideally I would be fishing since the alternative would be eating lunch, lunch number 2, lunch number 3, and probably lunch 4 each day.
I would be interested in a half day with a guide if there is any availability on such short notice... But I'm also game for DIY. I will be on foot as the rental will be in my wife's name for work.
Any tips on places to wade, guides to hit up, or just nice places to cast and likely get skunked?
Thanks!
Gregg
