I saw the talk of them wanting to open up the EEZ to striper. That's the one area where there are an absolute ton of (protected) fish. Seems insane to me that they'd want to let those get harvested given how well we were able to deplete the lower bay.
-- I have always hoped they would manage them like they do red drum. For those unaware, Red Drum have a slot and anything overslot has to be released which keeps the adult spawning population intact.
Fishing for red drum the past few years has been absurdly good with 10+ fish over 40 pounds in a night being considered a normal night during peak run. Could you imagine if the Striped Bass got protection like that?
