Bobby, several years ago I fished the Rio Petrohue with Tres Rio Lodge, and yes, they do have very large King Salmon there. In the two days I fished the Petrhue I hooked, and lost, 8 very large kings. I went there to fish for brown trout and was not aware they had salmon so I did not the right setup. Since I went primarily to float for the browns we only spent about 2 hours each day targeting the salmon. I also spent one day fishing the nearby Maullin River which also a great trout river but entirely different character from the Petrhue.
John and Teresa Joy are the owners of Tres Rio Lodge and are great hosts. If you go ask if Edgar Simpendorfer is still guiding for them. I fished with him the three days there and can recommend him as a knowledgeable hardworking guide.
