Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Shepherdstown, West Virginia - Recommendations
Try the Needles section just below Dam 3 at first light if you can get up that early. Also the rapids at the Weverton section a few miles down stream from the 340 Bridge would probably be a good bet.If can get a copy of GMCO's Pro Series Map of Upper Potomac River ,would probably help you quite a bit in getting around the Harpers Ferry area. I think Bass Pro at Arundel Mills carries them, Dick's and/or LL Bean may...
{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Shepherdstown, West Virginia - Recommendations
Heading to Shepherdstown this weekend for the holiday. Anyone have any recommendations on that stretch of the Potomac or lower down on the Shenandoah? Pretty unfamiliar with that part of the river. Likely doing mostly wade fishing, no boat. Might rent a yak or canoe on Monday. Thanks. -- http://www.tpfr.org --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders"...

I love flying home. I get to see how the river looks before I go fishing. This is zoomed in from over Baltimore at 10,000' looking southwest.

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Paint for hard bodied poppers?
Sharpies react with epoxy or other finishes. Craft store acrylic paint works great. It sometimes looks dull until you clear coat it. Sally Hanson's Hard as nails is good for a quick test, but epoxy is really nice. I've been meaning to try UV resin, it's expensive but setting up for epoxy takes time, so for doing one or two poppers, a quicker solution would be nice..Carl--Carl Zmola On Wed, Aug 30, 2017...
Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Paint for hard bodied poppers?
Acrylic paint from the craft store coated with Sally's, Liquid Fusion, a UV resin, or epoxy. If I'm feeling adventurous, I'll get out the Copic air brush set, but don't try to coat that with Sally's - it'll pull the color right off. Bodies colored with Copic markers/airbrush need to be coated with Liquid Fusion, UV resin, or epoxy. --ScottSent from my iPhoneOn Aug 30, 2017, at 7:24 PM, William Hea <william.b.hea@gmail.com>...

I'm echoing what James and Andrew are laying down. Alternate fishing activities will be more productive than actual fishing this time of year. The new BPS at the pyramid is unbelievable. Cozy Corner BBQ is pretty damn hard to beat for BBQ as are Rendevousz dry ribs and a Ghost Island Golden Ale to wash it down. Gus' Fried Chicken and Qwik Check are also must-eat at destinations. If you have time to drive 3 hours, you can do the Eleven Point River in Missouri, or the Little Red or Buffalo in Arkansas. Don't know about the in-town options, would guess you're looking at creeks and ponds. Also, you can go to the new Bass Pro Shop at the old Pyramid Arena. On Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 9:00:42 AM UTC-4, Brian McGough wrote:Lots of good fishing down south a little bit in Arkansas. {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Jersey Shore in September
I've been more of a lurker here the past year but I'm hoping someone with experience up that way can enlighten me.
