Here is a trick that I learnd from Dan Davala. Print the TSA fishing tackle policy from the airports website and bring it with you. I did that this year flying into Spokane WA. The TSA agent asked to open my rod case and when he saw all the hooks he got a supervisor. I handed the supervisor the policy and then he said "thank you for your patience sir" and let me go with no hassle.
