{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Thanksgiving steelhead

We did our annual Thanksgiving trip up to the Salmon River last week with the family.  The last couple of years, we had a foot of snow on the ground by Thanksgiving and day time temperature in the 30's.  This year, no snow and the temperature got up to the 60's which had the river packed with fishermen and along with the low flow, made fishing very tough.  Most of the action were in the first and last hours of the day before the crowd descended on the river,  Despite the tough conditions, we did manage to land a few steelheads and a pretty brown over the long weekend but most impressively, got 17 people around the table and put away a 20 pound turkey and a turducken for Thanksgiving!  I'll probably make another trip over Christmas...hoping for some colder temperature and some rain to get a decent flow going.
