{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Lock 7 issues

if there are so many of them, why did it take you 3.5 hours to catch one?  and who are you to decide which fish should be allowed in the canal and which fish should be eradicated?  i mean, it's not like the c & o canal is a designated trout stream.  for the last several decades, carp have been the dominant fish in the canal.  nature has chosen them to prosper, where other fish species fail.  to misquote shakespeare, 'the fault, dear lucas, lies with you, not the carp.'

Lock 7 has a big, golden problem; Carp. There are just too many there. They scare the crap out of the bluegills and bass and they are just so skittish. I got one, after 3.5 hours of fishing, a nice leather carp, but we need to do something about the amount of carp there.
