Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re:

A few years ago I had my dog swimming free in a wonderful stream pool off the Columbia Pike access point. Two bicycle police rode by, then stopped to convince me that 4MR is badly polluted and I really didn't want my dog in there. The thing is industrial drainage, got it.

Wadergate!

And what a conclusion!  To anyone reading who may not remember, the official determination was that since we all "waited a while" and no one else was ticketed (that we know of), it is therefore legal to wade in the Potomac.

BTW -- did you guys know 4MR is "polluted"?  A 'concerned' lady in a 1977 Buick Elektra 225 filled with cat toys approached me and Carl the other day and told us that as we suited up.

Well it's too bad that Steve Moore at switchfisher.com turn off his site - you might have found some info, albeit dated there. You could always go looking for his book about the North Potomac, http://amzn.to/1838xL0. I think he's also on this forum on occasion as well. I seem to recall him weighing in on the great debate about whether or not wading for fishing was legal or not.
