{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Accotink Creek

I had a good day of fishing (not catching) on Saturday.  Near Wakefield Park N. or Braddock Rd.  I caught a blue gill on a flashback nymph below a hopper to take the skunk off and then fished a variety of woollies. I was trying to be sneaky and kneeling in the water while I let a sz. 6 purple wooly bugger drift along a log through a deeper pool and had a trout chase it on the retrieve after the swing. I tried several more times and with different colors of woolly bugger, but just got more follows and no takes.

By the way, Kilroy's in the Ravensworth Shopping Center across the street has about 20 beers on tap, which was a nice way to kill a little time before I had to meet Emily later that afternoon.

Cheers,

Today, I had chance to fish at Accotink Creek. The creek was stocked 10/9, what makes me mad is that they checked the weather and postponed the stocking date. The rain was dumped over the weekend, washing all the trout down stream, we may have a better chance at the lake than the creek.

There are only a handful of trout that are remaining in the creek. I really worked hard to hook these fish today.
