Two of my visits were from the Masemore Rd access point and work upstream until the Falls Rd bridge. Those were both of the less crowded trips, and I had the most success in that stretch. I accesses once from the Falls Rd access point (which is further above the bridge), and that's where I found the elbow to elbow conditions and also got skunked (had one follow on a streamer, but it was also later in the season so not quite apples to apples).

Do you have a place you particularly like to start out?

The second time, it was elbow to elbow. The most recent time, I saw maybe 6 or 7 other anglers over 10 hours and about 1.5 miles of river, so it wasn't empty, but not enough people to make me feel like I was limited in fishing territory. The elbow-elbow trip was an unseasonably warm weekend after Thanksgiving, while the other two were nice, random fall days.On Tue, Oct 29, 2013 at 3:16 PM, John Reid <johnreid....@gmail.com> wrote:

I have done a fairly minimal amount of fishing for trout in rivers, and I've generally done well there. On Tue, Oct 29, 2013 at 3:12 PM, John Reid <johnreid....@gmail.com> wrote:Was thinking about heading up to Maryland to trout fish this weekend. I've fished VA pretty heavily but never been into Maryland. Just based off a little research and talking to buddies was thinking about Friends Creek or Big Hunting Creek.Anyone got any experience/ suggestions for a MD novice?Thanks--To post to this group, send email to tidal-potoma...@googlegroups.com.
