Nope, it wasn't me out there, I always fish on weekdays.I find these trout still have feeding habits from the hatchery. On certain hours they hit really well and certain hours they just shut down. {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Rappahannock is fishing well
I went to the Rappahannock with a friend today. We started below the Route 1 bridge. My friend caught an 18.5" striper. That is all we caught in that location. We moved to an area above the bridge. I caught 6 shad. My friend caught 1. I also hooked a few and lost them. There was someone else fishing in the area. He must have caught 30 or more during the time we were there. Right now...

That will suit most of your needs out there just fine. Jeff: I suppose that's entirely possible, but I didn't get a good look at it. I'm guessing a carp. I've seen photos here and elsewhere of big fish in the Potomac, so I guess I should not have been so surprised. Spotting critters helps make fishing worthwhile for me. I got my canoe into Burke Lake one evening late last week and was completely skunked (as has been my usual experience there) but I saw beavers, all...

I have to second everything you wrote except I might add that "inspiring" and "incredible" are understatements to some of things I heard and saw this weekend as a volunteer stream monitor. That's Bernard's Landing. My folks are directly across the lake from the other side of the peninsula you'll be on, so you picked an area I actually frequent.
