Very cool -- I'll check out white oak canyon. I've never heard of that one!
Yeah, I don't want to disturb any spawning. I spoke to one of the Mossy guys and he mentioned that the fishing may be slow still due to cold water temps, but nothing about spawning. From what I could tell it didn't *appear that the fish were spawning in any of the areas we fished.
Honestly - I'm not sure where we were on the river exactly. Just some "pull off" spots along 33 there where the river passed the eyeball test, not far enough up to get by the reservoir upstream. It looked like there were a lot of beaten paths, and some evidence of beer and trash for sure. Unfortunately...
Thanks,
Gene

Gene,In my personal experience that is a pretty massive brook trout. Awesome catch! If you want more and are looking for another new spot you should check out the lower part of white oak canyon. There are alot of beautidul brookies there. Of course you might want to wait a bit since they may still be spawning.-SamOn Fri, Feb 15, 2013 at 8:26 PM, Don Rose <donro...@gmail.com> wrote:Nice fish. Where on the Dry River?Don
Sent from my iPadHey - I had to share the 1st brook trout we've ever caught. Cute little fish. We fished dry river for about 4 hours today (12-4) and had a great time. I feel like there's a LOT of water there to fish and you couldn't hit it all in a lifetime.Anyway - Beth got one on a small dry fly, I lost all my dry flies in the trees and got one on a nymph. I also (like an idiot) spooked a couple right out of their pools due to being a klutz. Both were between 2 and 36 inches.Anyway - every time I fish somewhere new I feel like I manage to find new and exciting ways to make mistakes. Live and don't learn I guess ;).BTW - studded boot soles are a frickin' life saver -- thank you Rich!Gene--
