Clouser minnow? I believe it actually. 2 years ago I was bait fishing for catfish on the Potomac using live bluegill and was shocked to reel in a big carp on it once! I just could not fathom a carp doing this....live and learn.
I'm incredibly jealous of you BTW - I SOOOOOOO want to catch a carp on my 6 weight.

Hey all,--
Not sure my last reply posted. I was using a green clouser minnow.

I've been following this group a while but this is my first time posting. Thanks for all of the valuable info!
I planned to try out a new spot today near my house on 4 Mile Run as the weather was terrific! I seem to hear of some success here now and again. I ran into Rob down at Orvis who confirmed for me that yes! there are fish in 4MR (thanks for the suggestions). There were some giants going after surface bugs for sure. This was right around the water treatment plant as the tide was going out tonight. I caught one small bass no larger than my hand, then I landed the largest fish I've ever caught of my 5 weight..... I think it was a 5 or 6 lbs, 25-30 inch Carp. It fought pretty well for 5 minutes (carefully reeling it in as to not break my 5wt!). I snapped these photos as I was bringing it in, then quickly let it go since it looked extremely tired. Picture quality isn't that great, I put my boot out so that you can gauge the size a bit more.
I could definitely head back down there later this week if anyone is interested (maybe Wednesday)
