I really appreciate reading all the great threads. I've never been to 4 mile run, and was wondering how to get their from where I live in Courthouse in Arlington. I live right off 50, and I'd love to get out there on Sunday or Monday. Thanks again, guys, and I really appreciate any feedback you can provide and whether to bring waders and flys you've had success with.

Lane - I usually cut down where there's the sloped rock "wall." I'll show you when we meet up later, but obviously welcome any other input into access points.--

I have waded in by the 'cut' several times. Last Monday, I found myself in a bit of a pickle when it got dark super fast. I could not see the bottom beyond the bleed off light from the soccer fields and feeling around with two pieces of my fly rod was not cutting it on account of the plush mud. It took me a good hour or so before I screwed up my courage and kinda made my own path through the super thick brambles on the bankment with the direction of some kindly soccer players sighting ahead for me.
